At „Our Physics – Our Research“ (UPhUF) the working groups of the Department of Physics present their current research work. This is particularly interesting for students who are about to write their final theses, as the topics are particularly relevant for Bachelor’s, Master’s and admission theses. However, if you are not searching for a group to write a thesis in, but instead are just interested, you are of course also invited.

Professors who boldly lie to you? Who is supposed to keep track of which lectures are real and which are fake? But for those who take up this challenge at “Real or Fake”, attractive prizes await. Simply come in groups of around 3-6 people on 8 May at 6.30 pm to H11 in Cauerstraße 11 (admission starts at 6 pm, groups can also be formed on site). Because let’s be honest – who hasn’t always wanted to be overwhelmed by a mountain of pasta as soon as they open the pantry?

Mit Allgemeinwissen prahlen, skurrile Fragen beantworten und einen schönen Abend mit euren Freunden verbringen, obendrauf vielleicht noch etwas gewinnen? Für all das, könnt ihr euch zum Hörsaalquiz beamen lassen. Die Spezialkategorie dieses Mal: Science Fiction! Kommt mit eurer Freundesgruppe um 18 Uhr (Erdzeit) zum Planeten HG im Physikum oder trefft Leute vor Ort. Es ist kein Mathe oder Physikwissen erforderlich! Möge das Rateglück mit euch sein.

Am 08.01.25 könnt ihr euch ab 16:00 Uhr in Hörsaal H wieder über Berufsperspektiven nach dem Physikstudium informieren. Die beiden Vorträge sind diesmal “MINT im Consulting am Beispiel von modernem Zinsrisikomanagement” von Dr. Constanze Jahn und Dr. Tino Schulz (d-fine) und “Vom analytischen Denken zur datengetriebenen Implementierung und Beratung: IT-Consulting für Physiker:innen” von Felix Lammermann und Andreas Artinger (PRODATO).
Trotz des Namens der Veranstaltung sind natürlich auch alle Mathe- und Data-Science-Studierenden herzlich eingeladen.

The time has come for the Physikum to open its doors again for an unforgettable winter party. From 5-7 November the DIPHER24 conference will take place here in
Erlangen. The conference provides a platform for researchers, educators,
students, and professionals to engage in meaningful discussions, share
insights, and collaborate towards creating a more inclusive and
equitable environment in the Physics Department with this years focus on
cultural differences.

Pure excitement for the upcoming Summer Party 2024 of the student representatives Math/Physics/DS, Chemistry/MoSc, and Geography.
The preparations are in full swing so that everything will be perfect and we will bring the Eiweiher to a boil together. Let your friends and fellow students know and write the date in your calendar!
Well-being is taken care of: summery cocktails, beer and soft drinks combined with all kinds of grilled food from meaty to vegan. As usual, our Prof DJs and a professional DJ will take care of the entertainment. This year, for the first time, we will also offer Beer Pong and Flunky Ball. The party will start at 6pm.
